Mischa Auer - a very popular actor in the country that is sometimes known as Mischa Ounskowsky. His real name is Mikhail Semyonovich Unskovsky and was born in St. Petersburg Russia. Mischa Auer appeared in Hollywood industry in 1928 movie Something Always Happens. From then on, he landed into numerous films such as Rasputin and the Empress, The Yellow Ticket and The Lives of a Bengal Lancer.


Oskana Akinshina - one of the most well-known actresses in the country who became popular for her lead role in the Swedish film Lilya 4-ever that is directed by Lukas Moodysson. When she portrayed the role, it earned her a nod for Best Actress in the Gudbbagge Awards, a Sweden national film awards. Akinshina also appeared in the blockbuster film, The Bourne Supremacy, the sequel to The Bourne Identity that is directed by Paul Greengrass.


Maria Sharapova - born on April 19, 1987, Maria Yuryevna Sharapova is among the world’s greatest tennis player of all time. This former World No.1 has won three Grand Slam singles titles. At the age of 17, Sharapova made a big break in Wimbledon by defeating Serena Williams, another finest tennis player across the world. From then on, she rose to fame by winning the 2006 US Open and 2008 Australian Open defeating Justine Henin and Ana Ivanovic in the finals respectively. Aside from her tennis career, she was also featured in a number of modeling assignments and was been the most searched athlete on Yahoo last 2005 and 2008, making her as one of the world’s highest paid female athlete.


Garry Kasparov - dubbed as the greatest chess player of all time, Garry Kimovich Weinstein or simply known as Garry Kasparov was also a writer and political activist. This former World Chess Champion is the record holder for Chess Oscars and consecutive tournament victories. In addition, wikipedia.com stated that Kasparov holds the record for the longest time as the #1 rated player.


Alexei Alexeyevich Abrikosov - a Nobel Prize co-recipient in Physics in 2003 for their theories about how matter can behave at extremely low temperatures together with Vitaly Ginzburg and Anthony James Laggett . This Russian theoretical physicist has done numerous contributions in condensed matter physics field. This multi-awarded genius is a member of the Royal Academy of London and elected in the prestigious National Academy of Sciences.


Vladimir Putin - the current Prime Minister of Russia was born on October 7, 1952 in Saint Petersburg, Russia that is formerly known as Leningrad, USSR. This second President of Russia rise to the highest office in the country when Yeltsin unexpectedly resigned on December 31, 1999.
